from A$24.00

The Kii factory, established in 1995, is a cornerstone of the Rungeto Cooperative Society. Situated at an altitude of 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level, it benefits from the breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. This remarkable setting not only provides awe-inspiring scenery but also contributes to the region's ideal conditions for agricultural production. The coffee process employed at the farm is a Fully Washed method, ensuring exceptional quality and flavour. Cherries are sorted before undergoing pulping. Following this, the parchment undergoes an overnight fermentation process. Afterward, it is washed and meticulously graded into several categories. Finally, the coffee is carefully dried on drying tables, a process that takes between 8 to 14 days, to reach its optimal moisture content. The cooperative goes beyond the pursuit of exceptional flavour; it also upholds environmental responsibility and promotes sustainable practices. The washing station at Kii prioritizes water conservation by recycling the water used during the pulping process.
